Sound Wave Review

As many of you know, we have been promoting an event in Tempe, Arizona, called Sound Wave. The event took place in a water park, and it was certainly one of a kind. There were three stages, and we had the privilege to go backstage and meet some of the artists that performed there.

Diplo was all around the most fun performer to listen to. He mixed so many types of music into one awesome hour-long set, which took the crowd by a storm. After his set we got a chance to meet him, and we could tell this guy not only produces great music, but was also a chill dude who was all about having fun. Mad respect to Diplo.

We were probably most excited to see Porter Robinson because of his recently acquired fame, and because we have never seen him perform live before. Porter Robinson sounded like a Wolfgang Gartner protégé. I can’t tell you how many Wolfgang songs he dropped in his set, which blended in perfectly with his original productions. It’s strange because Porter is so young, but so talented: your mind gets blown.

DJ Abate is a local DJ who we are very close with. He is known for his house-influenced style, but is certainly not afraid to go more mainstream. He was a blast to watch and commanded the crowd well. It has been awesome to see him grow as a producer with his partner Jones, as well as a DJ. Much love brotha!
