Remix-Nation’s very own affiliated artist, OVERWERK, has just released his EP earlier today and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with all of you! OVERWERK’s album is an exceptional example of wonderfully written music infused with electro thunder. The intro to the Nth degree is unlike anything I have ever heard from a producer, save Daft Punk when they created the soundtrack for Tron. This is a very orchestrated, awesome sounding EP. He injected a heavy electronic dub-step feel on very melodic music and the results are incredibly good. The Nth “degree” sets a dark mood for the foundation of the track but swiftly on the heels follows the lively and energetic track, “Alive”. Shponge-esq soundscapes begin the fourth track until it breaks down into a filthy bass line with four beats on the floor. Once again a mesh of electronic effects on his melodies makes a seamless combination that is hard to put on pause. More intense and trippy sound effects begin the 4th song, but OVERWERK continues to develop the album, creating its own unique rhythm for each song that never stays the same. The album is finished by “Contact” another track with a swift flow and such unique effects that make u wonder why his style isn’t world famous. Overall, the album leads a sort of journey taking your through the mazes of designed sound. It runs like a movie soundtrack, with enough variation to make each song great in its own right. While it probably wont make your pre-game playlist, it will definitely make others.
